Employee Spotlight: Susan Sirpilla

Susan Sirpilla

This week spotlight is on our partner Susan Sirpilla. Susan's creativity and drive kicked off our email blasts many years ago to reach out into our clients home. Susan's flair for fashion and creative ability allow our messages weekly to become something we all look forward to!

At Market, her ability to seek out the best product always leaves us offering the most unique and beautiful purchases. Each event we offer in our business, once again shows the creative side of Susan.

Always with the most beautiful smile we are blessed she is not only in our family but a part of our team.

Thank you Susan for being a wonderful part of our mix for over 20 years. We appreciate everything you have done for us!

(Intro written by Laura Sirpilla Bosworth)

What is your role at Laura of Pembroke?

I have worn many hats at LOP - part owner, distribute weekly eblast, and I love going on buying trips.  I’ve also worked the floor, organized special events, and helped design our first website.

Before working at Laura of Pembroke, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

The summer between my Sophomore and Junior year of college, I worked at AAA, making customer Trip Tics (remember those?).  It was a fun and interesting job, except when a disgruntled customer came in complaining that it took them about 20 hours to get to Myrtle Beach, because I thought they would enjoy the scenic route instead of the direct route! Oops!

If you could switch your job with anyone else within LOP, whose job would you want?

I wish I was qualified to do Laura, Lisa, or Karen's job of creating and designing beautiful spaces for other people. Unfortunately, I don’t have the patience or the attention span to weed through all the catalogs and websites to find that perfect piece!  They really are amazing!

What do you like most about working at LOP?

I love that My mother-in-law, Veronica, and sister-in-law, Laura built the business from scratch, starting as a clothing store.  Their vision, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit make Laura of Pembroke a unique and fun shopping experience.  Plus, everyone that works there is like family!

How many years have you worked at LOP?

On and off since 1999. Gosh, that’s a really long time!!!

What is your all time favorite LOP purchase?

It’s hard to pick just one.  I love my Alexis Bitar hoop earrings, our cozy sectional in our basement, and just about everything else!!

Best vacation you’ve been to?

Italy with my husband, kids, my Mom, and Veronica.

Do you have a favorite quote?

”Miracles happen when you replace tears by Prayer and anxiety by Faith"

Favorite travel spot?

Italy

What book did you read last?

“Leaving Time” by Jodi Picoult

What is your favorite TV show or Movie?

TV: Modern Family  Movie: "Remember the Titans” ( I’m a sucker for football movies!)

Where is your home town?

I grew up in Akron, Ohio

Where would you like to travel to?

My kids really want to go to Greece!  I’ll go anywhere with them and my Husband, Johnny!!!
