What to Pack for a Cold Weather Trip

What to Pack for a Cold Weather Trip

Aspen, Montreal, Quebec City, Park City?  Cold weather trips can be a blast, but packing can be very difficult, especially with all of the layers, but we have you covered at Laura of Pembroke!  No matter what cold weather destination you are heading we are here to help you out! It is also a great time to stock up on new sweaters and cold weather pieces because a bunch of them are great prices!  Here are some ideas of what to pack when you are heading somewhere even colder than Cleveland.
When you are going to a cold climate it is important to layer!  We have NikiBiki layering pieces ($23) that really make all the difference.  We have a long sleeve version and a turtleneck version they will really help you stay warm.
Nothing says Apres Ski like this Cupcakes and Cashmere sweater!  It is just the perfect length and has a fun bell sleeve. It is perfect for layering underneath and will keep you cozy throughout the day.  Did I mention that it is also on sale (originally $118 now $83)!
This Leo & Sage sweater (originally $426, now $299 )is the perfect traveling piece because it can be worn closed and styled like a pullover sweater or open like a cardigan.  When packing for a cold weather destination it is important to pack things that you could wear more than once to save room, so this is the perfect piece! You could layer another sweater, like this Leo & Sage cashmere sweater (originally $323, now $226), underneath.  You could also choose to wear the cashmere sweater without the cardigan and you have a whole new outfit!  You will be so cozy you will not even realize it is 0 degrees out!
A cozy sweatshirt goes a long way when traveling.  This Splendid sweatshirt ($118) is super cozy and the fur in the hood adds some winter style.  You can pair this piece back with jeans (Hudson-originally $195, now $136) or leggings and you will be ready to explore all day!
And of course you need to pack your favorite wintertime accessories!  When I travel I use my scarf on the plane or in a chilly restaurant as a little blanket.  Also, when you are walking outside and that winter wind is quite breezy having a blanket scarf on will save your face from freezing!  This Soia and Kyo blanket scarf (originally $76, now $53) is perfect because it will go with all of the colors that you bring on your trip! Also, a hat!  I love this Soia and Kyo one ($65) because, just like the scarf, it will go with just about anything. And you can take off the fur ball for a totally different look!
No matter what climate you are traveling to, the ladies at Laura of Pembroke are happy to help you pick out some new pieces to add to your suitcase!  And remember to waterproof your shoes, bring lots of socks and make sure you have multiple pairs of gloves and mittens before you go (seriously, i just got back from a cold weather trip and wore gloves and mittens the whole time)!  Happy travels!
