Baby nurseries and kid rooms are some of the most fun spaces to design. I love working a subtle theme or color palette into the room and creating a beautiful space for beautiful little people! Being able to use playful and often whimsical pieces that would not otherwise go with the decor in the rest of the home is also such a treat.
Here are some of our favorite kids room projects from the past few years!
The Whimsical Wallpaper Room
We knew we wanted to do two things with this room: twin double beds and a floral wallpapered accent wall. There are endless options for colorful floral wallpapers, but we ended up falling in love with this black and white coloring-book-like print! The plush velvet twin beds POP against the busy pattern of the wallpaper, and we chose to use a small dresser as a joint nightstand in between the beds.
The Shadow Box Room
We've used these natural wood shadow boxes in several projects now, and they're a fun way to add function and design to a room! we had fun propping some stuffed animals and pillows inside the boxes, but they would also be perfect for books or keepsakes!

The Nautical Navy Nursery
My absolute favorite feature in this nursery is how the bathroom is visible from the room, because it is just the cutest bathroom you've ever seen! The white and navy wallpaper is a beautiful contrast against the navy built ins. Speaking of the built ins... check out the awesome pull out step stool feature! The Namesake Chair
This room was SO much fun to design. This baby girl was lucky number four in her family, and her mom wanted to make sure she had a special room of her own coming into a big family!
The most special item in the room is the armchair! Originally belonging to baby girl’s great grandma, (and baby’s namesake!) it got a brand new look in a soft pink fabric. It’s so special to repurpose meaningful pieces like this! We decided to wallpaper the entire room since there are three big windows that we could break up with draperies. The bow lamp is another precious touch in this room, and it was a piece we knew we wanted to incorporate from the get-go!

The All Boy Nursery
This little guy has THREE sisters, so we wanted to make sure his room was ALL BOY. We had fun with rustic wood tones and dark navy walls. We love incorporating fun sayings into art and decor in any project, and the lyrics on the wall are so fitting for a baby's nursery. By the time we got around to photographing this space, the crib had already been converted into a toddler bed! Oh, how the years fly by...

The Window Seat Bedroom
We love a good window seat! This is such a great excuse to incorporate some fun fabric into a space. We used fun, colorful, felt flower pillows on the window seat, perfect for a little girl's room!

The Big Sister Update
These sisters were about to get (another!) new sibling, and had to move rooms to make room for the new baby. While we were selecting fabrics for the new baby's room, we fell in love with this tonal pink animal print! We decided to utilize it for the big girls' room, and had beautiful, functional curtains made.

The Teenage Years
Transitioning from a "kids room" to a teenager's room is often a complete room re-do. This room and bathroom function as a great space for a young adult! We kept the room mostly neutral, with some fun pops of color.
